DECONSTRUCTION
From Theory to Design

This research project was implemented during my Bachelor Studies at Middlesex University. After studying thoroughly the current design trends, one can observe that one of the most important chapters of Postmodernism in philosophy, fine arts, architecture and design is the Deconstruction. The main objective of this research is to present the movement of Deconstruction, to try to define it and to exam the link between the critical theory and design. To accomplish this objective I began studying the movement from its roots, when the term of “deconstruction” was first introduced in Jacques Derrida’s book “Off Grammatology”, until the ‘90s design works of many famous postmodern designers.
